MARSHALL CHALLENGES CREWS-DEZURN FOR UNDISPUTED WORLD TITLES IN MANCHESTER ON JUL 1

MARSHALL CHALLENGES CREWS-DEZURN FOR UNDISPUTED WORLD TITLES IN MANCHESTER ON JUL 1

ABOUT

  • Liam Smith postpones rematch with Chris Eubank Jr to allow full recovery from nagging injury, Savannah Marshall undisputed world title challenge takes main event slot

Savannah ‘The Silent Assassin’ Marshall (12-1, 10 KO’s) will challenge undisputed world super-middleweight champion Franchón ‘FCD’ Crews-Dezurn in the co-headline bout.

Having headlined a record-setting event at London’s O2 Arena in an October challenge against Claressa ‘GWOAT’ Shields, Marshall’s return to the ring places her immediately in another high-stakes encounter against an undisputed world champion with the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF world super-middleweight championships on the line.

Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2 KO’s) began her second stint as WBO world super-middleweight champion in March 2020, captured the WBC title for a second time in June 2020 and then added the WBA and IBF belts in April 2022 to become undisputed world champion of the weight class.

‘Miss GB’ Jonas (13-2-1, 8 KOs) will be defending her WBC, WBO, IBF and Ring Magazine Super-Welterweight titles too.

Middleweight sensation Ben ‘The Surgeon’ Whittaker considers ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed one of his greatest inspirations and paid tribute to his idol at his last fight in Birmingham with a stunning blend of skills and showboating which had him trending across UK social media.

The electrifying young talent won a silver medallist at the 2020 Olympics and is widely-tipped by boxing insiders to become a dominant world champion in the professional ranks and a potential all-time great. In July, Manchester fans will have their first chance to witness his magic in person.

And in a huge domestic battle, British Super-Middleweight champion Mark ‘Kid Dynamite’ Heffron (29-2-1, 23 KOs) will defend the prestigious Lonsdale Belt against Zak Chelli (13-1-1, 6 KOs).

ADAM AZIM – Friday 16 Jun 2023, York Hall London

A STEP TO GREATNESS: UNDEFEATED PRODIGY ADAM AZIM HEADLINES ICONIC YORK HALL IN TOUGHEST TEST TO DATE ATOP BOXXER SUMMER SIZZLER LONDON CARD

ABOUT

Adam Azim (8-0, 6 KO’s), British boxing’s brightest prospect, steps up another level for his next outing when he faces IBO International champion Aram Fanyan (22-1, 4 KOs) at the historic York Hall, London on Friday June 16th.

Caroline Dubois (6-0, 5 KO’s), Azim’s stablemate, is also taking a step up in opposition as she takes on Yanina del Carmen Lescano (13-2, 4 KO’s). She was just one scorecard away from becoming IBO World Lightweight Champion last year, losing her title challenge against 2016 Olympic gold medallist Estelle Mossely by way of a split-decision which sparked much debate among boxing’s fanbase.

The road to title contention also leads Frazer ‘Big Fraze’ Clarke (6-0, 5 KO’s) to York Hall for what will also be his first appearance in the iconic British boxing venue. Having last week received news that he will be the next mandatory challenger for British heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley, the 2020 Olympic medallist will sharpen his tools in the ring on June 10th ahead of his summer title showdown.

Cruiserweight prospect Viddal Riley (8-0, 5 KO’s) and his antagonist Anees Taj (7-3, 5 KO’s) have some unfinished business to attend to following their February war ending unsatisfactorily in a fourth-round doctor’s stoppage due to a cut above Taj’s eyebrow.

In another bad-blood encounter confirmed for the card, a war of words which began in Manchester last month will be settled in London in June when unbeaten prospects in Aaron ‘The Silencer’ McKenna (16-0, 8 KOs) and Shakiel ‘Dr Steel’ Thompson (10-0, 6 KOs) meet in a mouth-watering middleweight contest for the WBC International Middleweight Championship.

Rising star Callum Simpson returns to the ring on June 16 at London’s iconic York Hall. Barnsley super-middleweight Simpson (11-0, 9 KOs) sensationally ripped up his reputation as the ‘best kept secret in British boxing’ when he emphatically stopped Celso Neves last month in Manchester on his BOXXER debut.

Elsewhere on the card, brother of headliner Adam, welterweight Hassan Azim (6-0, 3 KOs) looks to extend his unbeaten start to life as a professional.

English champion Sam Gilley (15-1, 7 KOs) will be out to light up his native East End after impressing last time out at Ally Pally last November.

Rhys Edwards (14-0, 4 KOs) produced a breathtaking performance in his win over Brian Phillips in Manchester last month – and the undefeated Welsh super-bantamweight will be back in action on June 10. As will Iranian featherweight Razor Ali (7-0, 1 KO), who wowed at Wembley back in February with his third round stoppage of Hector Avila Lozano.

And the series 8 winner of popular TV series ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Joshua Gustave will be on display too. The Ilford middleweight is 4-0 as a professional with all four victories coming from fights at York Hall.

NOTE TO JUNE 10TH TICKET HOLDERS – Your tickets will automatically be valid for this rescheduled event on June 16th. If you are unable to make the new date, please get in contact with your ticket provider for a full refund.

CROWNING GLORY – Saturday 6 May 2023, Resorts World Arena Birmingham

BOXXER is heading to Birmingham! Witness a night of 'Crowning Glory' as new major signing Joshua Buatsi headlines at the Resorts World Arena

ABOUT

BOXXER’s terrific trio of electrifying events kicks off with ‘Crowning Glory’ on Saturday, May 6th at the Resorts World Arena, Birmingham when newly-announced BOXXER signing Joshua Buatsi (16-0, 13 KO’s) makes his eagerly-anticipated promotional debut.

On the day King Charles III is coronated, the former British light-heavyweight champion – who is ranked No.1 in the world by the WBA – faces Pawel Stepien (18-0-1, 12 KO’s) in the headline bout and looks to end his Polish rival’s undefeated record in emphatic fashion as he kicks off his conquest for a world title.

Lauren Price MBE and Kirstie Bavington become the first female professional boxers in history to compete for the inaugural British Female Championship and a coveted Lonsdale Belt.

Generational prodigy Ben Whittaker (2-0, 1 KO’s) returns to the ring following an enforced injury layoff which has seen him sidelined since August last year.

For his third outing as a professional light-heavyweight, he faces Jordan ‘The Game’ Grant (6-3, 1 KO) who brings triple Whittaker’s professional experience to the ring and has a well-deserved reputation for unbelievable toughness thanks to such feats as going the distance and winning a unanimous decision despite breaking his right hand in the first minute of a fight.

Kaisee Benjamin (16-2-1, 6 KO’s) faces Ireland’s Sean McComb (15-1, 5 KO’s)  in what will undoubtedly be an all-action encounter from bell to bell.

And Birmingham’s Cori Gibbs (17-1, 3 KO’s) is out for revenge when he faces Jimmy First in an immediate rematch of their December encounter.

Former British light-heavyweight champion Shakan Pitters (17-2, 6 KO’s) faces former English champion Joel McIntyre (20-6, 5 KO’s), with both fighters looking for a win to return themselves to the contender conversation.

And current British middleweight champion Tyler Denny (16-2-3), competing in his native Birmingham for the first time since 2019 in a non-title match against Natasha Jonas stablemate Macauley McGowan (17-3-2, 3 KO’s), who came away with a controversial draw decision in Paris last month after seemingly clearly bested the home fighter over eight rounds.

OKOLIE VS LIGHT – Saturday 25 March 2023, AO Arena Manchester

LAWRENCE OKOLIE VS DAVID LIGHT WORLD TITLE FIGHT CONFIRMED FOR MARCH 25 IN MANCHESTER AS CLARKE AND ARTINGSTALL RETURN

ABOUT

Lawrence ‘The Sauce’ Okolie has delivered a confident prediction ahead of his WBO world cruiserweight title defence against David Light on March 25th at the AO Arena in Manchester.

The date and venue has officially been confirmed as part of a blockbuster BOXXER fight night which will see Frazer Clarke and Karriss Artingstall all in action.

Undefeated Team GB Olympics hero Clarke (5-0, 4 KOs), who memorably won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games, will now bid to take another scalp on his burgeoning resume when he faces off against his 6ft 5in Romanian rival.

Dinu (20-4-0, 16 KOs) was beaten by Daniel Dubois the last time he fought in England when he was stopped for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title in June 2021.

English title fights have a deserved reputation for producing some of the most exciting contests in boxing and that tradition looks set to continue in the evening’s chief support bout when Michael Gomez Jr (18-1, 5 KO’s) and Levi Giles (13-0, 3 KO’s) enter the ring to contest the vacant English Super-Featherweight Championship.

Hotly-tipped super-middleweight prospect Callum Simpson (10-0, 8 KO’s) – the reigning Central Area champion – recently signed an exclusive promotional agreement with BOXXER. Yorkshireman Simpson trained alongside former world champion Josh Warrington when he entered the professional ranks and has stopped 80% of his opponents thus far.

Other names confirmed for the March 25th card today include Welsh featherweight Rhys Edwards (2-2), who faces Liverpool’s Brian Phillips (12-3, 3 KO’s), and the return to the BOXXER ring of welterweight Samuel ‘True Sensation’ Antwi (14-2, 6 KO’s), middleweight Aaron McKenna (15-0, 8 KO’s) and former Team GB member and Tri-Nations amateur champion Harvey Lambert (1-0), with opponents for the trio to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

FEBRUARY FEAST! THE AMAZING ADAM AZIM RETURNS TO HEADLINE AT WEMBLEY AS CAROLINE DUBOIS, VIDDAL RILEY AND MANY MORE LIGHT UP LONDON ON FEB 11

ABOUT

The electrifying Adam ‘The Assassin’ Azim (7-0, 6 KO’s) returns to the ring at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on Saturday, February 11 for a showdown with undefeated South American Santos Reyes (12-0, 3 KO’s).

Six consecutive stoppage victories have established Azim as the world’s leading lightweight prospect. In 2022 he won the BBC Sport ‘Young Fighter of the Year’ award and the Boxing News ‘2022 Prospect of the Year’

Also stepping up is Azim’s stablemate ‘Sweet’ Caroline Dubois (5-0, 4 KO’s). She faces four-time Argentinian national champion Feriche Mashaury

Super-middleweight Zak Chelli will return to action on February 11 at the OVO Arena in London when he takes on the ‘Magician’ Anthony Sims Jr.

This hugely-exciting international ‘Wild Card’ contest – in association with lead event partners Bet 365 – joins an action-packed card in the capital, headlined by Adam Azim.

The English Middleweight Championship will be on the line when newly-crowned champion Tyler Denny (15-2-3) makes his first defence of the title. He faces undefeated Cornwall man Brad Pauls (16-0, 9 KO’s).

Rising cruiserweight threat Viddal Riley (7-0, 4 KOs) won all three of his 2022 fights by KO and aims to continue that against BOXXER Series tournament veteran Anees Taj (7-2-0, 5 KOs).

Hassan Azim is back too – and is on a mission to underline his incredible talent this year.

Joining the bill is the ‘Wanderer’, Jordan Reynolds. The Luton-based super-welterweight (4-0, 1 KO) was successful on his most recent visit to Wembley’s iconic arena when he outclassed Jose Manuel Lopez Clavero in a majority points victory last October.

And Iranian featherweight prospect ‘Razor Ali’ (6-0) will be keen to showcase his sharp skills in the capital too. Ali – full name Alireza Ghadiri – is unbeaten in six previous fights and will be keen to add his first stoppage in what will be his seventh professional fight.

This event is presented in association with official partners bet365, FCI Markets, Everlast, WOW HYDRATE and Village Hotels.
